Kathleen McCool, 5th Air Force command chief, shares her personal opinions about a book titled, “I Am Malala,” during Pacific Air Forces’ first Women’s, Peace, and Security symposium, hosted from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, March 31, 2021. The book is about a fifteen year old girl who was nearly killed after being shot in the head at point-blank range while speaking out about girl’s rights to education. Thomas, deputy commander of Pacific Air Forces, left, engages U.S. Coast Guard Sector Guam’s Master Chief Petty Officer Charlie Salls, after presenting his unit with the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Medium Agency of the Year Award during a 2021 CFC Award Ceremony at Joint Base Pearl-Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Feb. 26, 2021. U.S. Coast Guard Sector Guam was successful in increasing total donations from their 2019 results of $50 to a little over $3,000. As a creative tool to increase donations, the agency implemented a marketing method called the “$1 Challenge.” Employees were encouraged to review the list of charitable organizations and commit one dollar as a single or recurring donation to a charity that interested them.
