COMPACAF attends Seoul ADEX
U.S. Air Force Gen. Terrence J. O'Shaughnessy, Pacific Air Forces commander, meets with Gen. Jeong Kyeong doo, Republic of Korea Air Force chairman of the joint chief of staff, Oct. 17, 2017, during the 20th International Aerospace Symposium. The symposium is one of many events taking place as part of the 2017 Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition, or Seoul ADEX, one of the largest, most comprehensive events of its kind in Northeast Asia, attracting aviation and aerospace professionals, key defense personnel, aviation enthusiasts and the general public alike. From Oct 17 to 22, approximately 200 U.S. personnel will facilitate a cross-section of U.S. military aircraft, which are scheduled for static displays and aerial demonstrations, to include a first time appearance by the F-35A Lightning. COMPACAF attends Seoul ADEX
U.S. Air Force Gen. Terrence J. O'Shaughnessy, Pacific Air Forces commander, along with other distinguished visitors, watch the Republic of Korea Air Force Black Eagles demonstration team performance Oct. 17, 2017, at the 2017 Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The Seoul ADEX is the largest, most comprehensive event of its kind in Northeast Asia, bringing together Airmen from around the world to demonstrate a shared commitment to the stability and security of the Indo-Asia-Pacific region, promote standardization and interoperability of equipment, and display capabilities critical to the success of military operations. It serves to strengthen long-standing military-to-military relations through aerial demonstrations and displays, as well as key engagements between representatives from the U.S., the Republic of Korea and other allies, partners and like-minded nations. U.S. bombers conduct bilateral mission with allies in response to North Korea ICBM launch
A U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer assigned to the 9th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, deployed from Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, is joined by Republic of Korea air force F-15s, during a 10-hour mission from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, into Japanese airspace and over the Korean Peninsula, July 30, 2017. The B-1s first made contact with Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-2 fighter jets in Japanese airspace, then proceeded over the Korean Peninsula where they were joined by South Korean F-15 fighter jets. The aircrews practiced intercept and formation training during the mission, enabling them to improve their combined capabilities and tactical skills, while also strengthening the long standing military-to-military relationships in the Indo-Asia-Pacific.
