MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan --

More than 300 volunteers came together to take part in a day of sports and camaraderie with local community members during the 29th Annual Special Olympics at Misawa Air Base Oct. 10.

Participating in the event were more than 130 local community members from across the Aomori prefecture. The Special Olympic games included basketball, badminton, dash race and bowling among other events like a 35th Security Forces Squadron military working dog demonstration and a 35th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter parade.
