Phasing the Hog
EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Airman First Class Guy Mitchell, 354th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, removes an A-10 Thunderbolt II leading edge panel during phase maintenance on Mar. 13 while Staff Sgt Jason Belanger and Senior Airman Timothy Jeter, both of the 354th Maintenance Squadron, work on the cockpit section in the background. Phase maintenance is an overhaul of the entire aircraft which ensures it is ready for safe flight.The 354th Maintenance Squadron is in charge of the Phase program and can turn an A-10 around in 10 days.
