PACAF 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year

HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii --  The Pacific Air Forces 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year have been selected and will be honored during a ceremony at the Tradewinds enlisted club today. 

Three Airmen from each air component, the Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard in PACAF will be awarded in four categories - Outstanding Airman, NCO, Senior NCO, and First Sergeant of the Year. 

"We are fortunate to have these shining stars of PACAF in our presence," said Chief Master Sgt. Anthony Bishop PACAF Command Chief. "These special individuals will compete at the Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve Command and Air Force level for the 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year."

Each of the winners will be presented a medallion by General Paul V. Hester commander Pacific Air Forces and Mrs. Lynda Hester.

The Airmen and wining categories are: 

Active Duty Airman of the Year is SrA Matthew C. Hulsman from the 3rd Civil Engineering Squadron at Elmendorf AFB.
Air National Guard Airman of the Year is SrA Maria V. Ronquillo from the 254th Security Forces Squadron of the Guam Air National Guard.
Reserve Airman of the Year is SrA Brandon M. Arredondo from the 48th Aerial Port Squadron at Hickam AFB.
Active Duty Non-commissioned Officer of the Year is TSgt Jesse J. Jacobson from Detachment 1, 554th Red Horse Squadron at Kadena AB.
Air National Guard Non-commissioned Officer of the Year is TSgt Richard W. Costa, Jr. from 154th Mission Support Flight at Hickam AFB.
Reserve Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year is SSgt Tammy K. Castro from 724th Aeromedical Staging Flight at Hickam AFB.
Active Duty Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year is MSgt Bradley A. Smith from the 15th Contracting Squadron at Hickam AFB.
Air National Guard Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year is MSgt Lorraine H. Guthrie from the 176th Maintenance Squadron at Kulis Air National Guard Base.
Reserve Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year is MSgt Robert F. Tancayo from 624th Civil Engineer Squadron at Hickam AFB.
Active Duty First Sergeant of the Year is MSgt James C. Biggerstaff from the 354th Operations Group at Eielson AFB.
Air National Guard First Sergeant of the Year is SMSgt Vernon J. Palomares from the 154th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Hickam AFB.
Reserve First Sergeant of the Year is MSgt Daniel C. Stone from the 724th Aeromedical Staging Flight at Andersen AFB
