The Osan Officers' Spouses' Club, along with base military and private organizations, is once again conducting the Cookie Crunch campaign.

An annual program to deliver homemade cookies to unaccompanied Airmen and Soldiers stationed in the Republic of Korea, Cookie Crunch volunteers made more than 65,000 sugar and chocolate chip cookies.

"This has been a Team Osan project, and the support of Team Osan is very much appreciated," said Terri Cassidy, project lead. "Military members have come in individually, with friends or as groups. Spouses have also helped as individuals and groups ... some have helped numerous times."

Base youth also offered a hand, in the form of members from the Keystone Club, Girl and Boy Scouts and school volunteers. The Osan Commissary has lent support, as well, and the Mustang Club has given space in its kitchen for the cookie baking.

"We're here to support the mission," said Jayme Nagle, an OOSC member. "We're here to help the men and women stationed here by themselves to enjoy the holidays."

Once the cookies are finished, Osan's first sergeants arrange for delivery during the second and third weeks of December. The cookies will be sent out to 7th Air Force and 51st Fighter Wing personnel across the Korean peninsula, from Osan to Gwang Ju to Kunsan.

"This is the biggest project we do all year," said Kim Norman, OOSC member. "It gives the Airmen a taste of home. Instead of cookies through the mail, we make them fresh here."
