As Election Day nears, many voters may begin to worry whether or not their absentee ballot will make it to its final destination. The Osan Post Office has initiated a new DoD-wide program to help relieve voters' worries.

The "Track Your Vote" program gives Team Osan members their option to track their ballots through postal system to its final destination using a personalized bar code and Web site, said Airman 1st Class Justin Mays.

"To begin the process, customers must bring their completed absentee ballots to the post office's customer service desk for mailing," he said. "Our customer services representatives will provide the customer with a postcard that includes the tracking number label, Web site address and a nine-digit password. Ballots placed in the mail drop box without a tracking number will not be tracked."

Once the ballot is mailed and the tracking number is scanned into the postal system, customers can track their ballots using the designated Web site and nine-digit password.

"Patrons can start tracking the ballot online as soon as it arrives at the gateway in San Francisco. The tracking continues until the ballot arrives at its final destination," Airman Mays said.

This free service, which is available to all patrons, was added as a way for the post office to increase its customer service and satisfaction.

As an added bonus to the Track Your Vote program, the post office will Express Mail completed ballots directly to the voters' district, free of charge beginning Oct. 27.

"Our customers want to ensure their vote is counted," Airman Mays said. "As with every election, every vote counts and the extra effort and service these programs provide will hopefully give our customers some peace of mind, knowing that their ballots reached their final destination."
