Airmen at Yokota will be participating in Wingman Day, an annual event that focuses on the morale and welfare of a unit, Jan. 9.

"Wingman day offers a pause in the day-to-day mission focus of Airmen in order to solidify relationships, get to know peers, troubleshoot unit problems and lay a road map for the a new year," said Lt. Col. Michael Crook, 374th Comptroller Squadron commander and lead of Yokota's Wingman Day.

Wingman Day events will begin with the Wing Run on Friday morning followed by activities emphasizing team building, communication and interaction.

"The Wingman Culture is a culture of responsible choices, where Airmen take care of Airmen by making responsible choices that keep themselves and each other safe and healthy," Colonel Crook said. "This event is the centerpiece around which this year-round culture is anchored; it reinforces the Wingman concept, reacquaints Airmen with culture principles, and revitalizes our dedication to being great Wingmen."

During Wingman Day, units will cover a variety of subjects from responsible decision-making and behavior to identification of and intervention with troubled Airmen.

"The Wingman concept is more than an event; it is a culture of Airmen taking care of Airmen 24/7, 365 days a year," the colonel said.
