A C-130J Hercules from Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark., impressed Brunei dignitaries and local Singapore media during two aerial demonstration flights held here Feb. 3- 4 during the Singapore Airshow 2010.

"I really enjoyed this flight; the crew was nice in explaining every question that I had about the plane," said Jori Haji Abdullah, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force.

Staff Sergeant Lindsey Thornton, a loadmaster from the 41st Airlift Squadron at Little Rock AFB, who was one of the crew members during Commander Abdullah's flight, said he was honored to fly with local Singapore media, the Brunei Minister of Defence and Commander Abdullah aboard his C-130J aircraft which he says has been the highlight of his crew's trip to Singapore.

"The flight with the media and the Singapore dignitaries was a really good time for us --we really enjoyed it because everyone was really excited about the flight," said Sergeant Lindsey.

The C-130J is among six other U.S. military aircraft that participated during Singapore Airshow 2010. Others include: two A-10 Thunderbolt IIs from the 51st Fighter Wing at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, one KC-135 Stratotanker from the 18th Wing at Kadena AB, Japan, two F-15E Strike Eagles currently deployed to Kunsan AB, Republic of Korea, and one P-3C Orion from Patrol Squadron Four Seven at Kadena. Additionally, one B-52 Stratofortress currently deployed to Andersen AFB, Guam, and one C-17 Globemaster III from the 3rd Wing at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, are scheduled to conduct flyovers at the event.

During the flight, Sergeant Lindsey made sure everyone was well taken care of by providing a safety briefing prior to take off as well as a guided tour throughout the plane with historical information about the aircraft.

The C-130J model was requested to be at the air show because it is one of the newest C-130 J-models in the U.S. Air Force inventory and is only 18 months old. It has the newest aerial systems available.

The crew completed two demos and will participate in the static display for the remainder of the air show.

Aircraft from the United States are participating in both static displays and aerial demonstrations at Singapore Airshow 2010 to exhibit a snapshot of the diverse inventory of U.S. military aircraft and equipment. U.S. Pacific Command's participation in the six-day air show directly supports U.S. engagement goals and furthers U.S. relations with countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

The air show is open to the public Feb. 6 - 7.

Thirteenth Air Force at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam is leading the U.S. military participation in Singapore Airshow 2010.
