A Wolf Pack Airman was recognized as the top U.S. Air Force Command Post Airman of the Year for 2009.

Senior Airman Jessica Duckett, 8th Fighter Wing command post, was recognized for her leadership in her primary duties as a command post expert.

As command post expert, Airman Duckett ran daily operations for $3 billion in assets, with more than 900 sorties serving Wolf Pack military and civilian members.

"I'm honored to be recognized as U.S. Air Force Command Post Airman of the Year for 2009," said Airman Duckett. "When the Wolf informed us that I won at the highest level, I was shocked but also very happy."

Not only did she receive this award for her primary duties, but for other accomplishments like becoming a senior controller as a Senior Airman as well.

"Recently Pacific Air Forces granted a waiver for me to become a senior controller, which is rare for a Senior Airman in the command post career field," Airman Duckett said. "As a senior controller, I've been put in a leadership position over my peers."

In addition, she's an example of how to use time wisely. She has taken on college courses, volunteered in the community, and has spearheaded projects within the command post.

"I'm very proud of Airman Duckett," said Lieutenant Colonel Valerie Hackett, 8th Fighter Wing command post chief. "She's a tremendous asset to the Air Force and is very deserving of this award."

This stellar Airman acknowledges her fellow Airmen in their participation in winning this award.

"I couldn't have done it without our amazing command post chief, Colonel Hackett and all the other fellow controllers who give a hundred percent every time they come to work," said Airman Duckett. "I feel we all deserve this award together. Without the camaraderie of the Wolf Pack and support from my leaders here, I wouldn't have won this award."
