The Osan Air Force Sergeants Association chapter is sponsoring the National POW/MIA Recognition Day this year, with an entire week of events Sept. 13-17. There will be a myriad of demonstrations and events leading up to The National POW/MIA Recognition Day, culminating in a remembrance and memorial tribute ceremony Sept 17.

Team Osan will honor the sacrifices of unaccounted-for comrades-in-arms and zeal of the families who are unsure of their status while waiting arduously for closure. The base also hopes to enhance awareness of the Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office and the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command efforts for recovery. The watchword for this year's Recognition Day is "Until every story ends."

Observances of National POW/MIA Recognition Day will be held across the United States and overseas on military installations, ships at sea, state capitols, schools and veterans' facilities. This observance is one of six days throughout the year that Congress has mandated the flying of the National League of Families' POW/MIA flag.
