The giant voice woke everyone with a 4 a.m. wing recall that kicked-off the surprise Pacific Air Force Command Inspector General Phase 1 operational readiness inspection on the 8th Fighter Wing Nov. 18. The purpose of the inspection was to test how quickly the base could prepare to execute its three-part mission to "Defend the base, accept follow-on forces and take the fight North." The Phase 1 inspection primarily focused on the 8th Maintenance Group's ability to generate aircraft, and how well the wing could support the group. Official results from the inspection will be released as they become available. To view a slideshow click here.
