JPAC volunteer notice

Volunteers are needed for Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command missions. The mission of the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) is to achieve the fullest possible accounting of all Americans missing as a result of the nation's past conflicts. The highest priority of the organization is the return of any living Americans that remain prisoners of war.

Below are the locations and guidelines necessary to participate in this exceptional opportunity.

Location: Laos
Time Frame: Feb 21 to April 11, 2010
Requirements: Any Air Force Specialty Code/rate/MOS (1); Linguist (1)

Location: Vietnam
Time Frame: Feb 25 to April 14, 2010
Requirements: Any AFSC (1)

All volunteers must:
- Be approved by their commander via signed memorandum to proceed on a 45-day TDY.
- Have a fitness score of 75 or greater
- Possess a tourist or official passport that does not expire within 6 months of mission completion
- Be in the grade of E-5 through E-8. (E4s may apply; however, CC must include statement in memo to attest to the selected Airman's professionalism.)

This mission is unit funded, with possible reimbursement from FY11 fallout funds (TDY estimated cost $15,000).
