The 35th Communications Squadron Radio Frequency Transmission Systems shop maintains and tests the base's mass notification system along with other systems.

The 35 CS plans, integrates and maintains more than $1 million in command, control, communications, computers, intelligence infrastructure, navigational aids, information operations and postal capabilities for the Misawa Air Base's community. The squadron also trains and sustains 220 combat-ready C4I forces for wartime operations. This enables the 35th Fighter Wing, 21 associate units and the Japan Air Self Defense Force to generate, project and sustain combat power in the Pacific theater of operations.
