U.S. Air Force participates in Australia's Avalon Airshow

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii -- At the invitation of the Government of Australia, the United States military will be represented at the Australian International Airshow 2011 held at Avalon Airport, Victoria, Australia, from March 1 through 6.

A cross-section of U.S. military aircraft and equipment are scheduled to be on static display and performing aerial demonstrations including the F-22 Raptor, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the B-1B Lancer, the KC-135 Stratotanker, the C-17 Globemaster III, the C-130J Hercules, and the MH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter.

Through participating in air shows and other regional events, the United States demonstrates its commitment to the security of the Asia-Pacific region, promotes the standardization and interoperability of equipment, and displays capabilities critical to the success of current and future military operations.
