8th CE HVAC shop keeps things cool

KUNSAN AIR BASE, Repulic of Korea --  8th Civil Engineer Squadron heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigerating technician, performs system maintenance, changes filters and adjusts system controls here Aug. 4.

There are 21 members of the HVAC team, 14 Airmen and 7 civilians. They maintain 1.7K HVAC/R Systems base- wide and assist the Army with specialized air conditioning equipment. 6,000 hours annually are allocated toward the Recurring Maintenance Program to ensure units are running optimally. They are currently averaging about 25 dorm room calls weekly and average 65 calls per week for maintenance.
