21 of the original 27 Airmen from the 51st Security Forces Squadron, who volunteered to try-out for the Quick Response Team, remain here, August 9. The Airmen were placed up against an elevated level of physical stress which tested not only their strength but also their capabilities to act as a cohesive squad. Throughout the day Airmen were also challenged to ensure the safety of on another while enduring the wear and tear of the physical portion of the tryouts. The Airmen were placed up against task such as completing a 5k as a squad while securing the 100 pound log over their shoulders, 4 sets of modified sit-ups, pushups and lunges which all were completed with the 100 pound log on the Airmen or being held by the Airmen with each set stopping at 31 in memory of the 31 warriors lost in Afghanistan, August 7.
