Gen. Gary North, commander Pacific Air Forces, kicked off ticket sales last week in the Courtyard of Heroes for the 64th Air Force Ball by buying ticket number 0001.

This year's ball tickets are 2 x 3 inch commemorative collector's coin.

"I'm really looking forward to a night out celebrating our Air Force heritage," said General North. "This year's event has some extra special touches in line with the "Tribute to Heroes" theme. It is going to be fun for everyone."

The Air Force Ball, a Tribute to Heroes, is scheduled to take place Sept. 16th at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Festivities start at 6:00 p.m. and will include a cocktail hour, dinner and musical entertainment. The featured guest speaker is Chad Hennings, retired football player and a former A-10 Air Force pilot.

"We are extremely excited that an Air Force Academy grad and 3-time Super Bowl Champion, Chad Hennings, has been confirmed as the featured speaker for this year's ball," said Greg Green, Birthday Ball Committee president.

Although he is well-known as an All-American college football player, Hennings' accomplishments extend well beyond the football gridiron. Hennings' was named the number one lineman in the country and was awarded the Outland Trophy during his time at the United States Air Force Academy. He is also a decorated A-10 pilot with 45 combat missions and is a highly sought-after public speaker and a revered author.

Ticket sales are ongoing, with sales representatives volunteering from each Air Force unit on Oahu. The Birthday Ball Committee hopes that 1,250 tickets will be sold this year.
Those interested in attending the Air Force's signature gala should contact their ticket sales representative.
