U.S. Air Force survival, evasion, resistance and escape instructors met with Republic of Korea Air Force SERE instructors at their Intelligence Training Center here Sept. 15.

The purpose of the meeting was to map out the events of the day and to perform their jumps together. ROKAF invited the U.S. Air Force to jump with them to help improve relationships with one another and stimulate a continued bilateral partnership on the peninsula.

SERE instructors conducted aerial training missions to help keep themselves mission ready and qualified to ensure special operations forces members are up to date with their training requirements.

Most of the SERE training focused on survival and evasion. These two legs of the SERE mission cover topics related to woodcraft and wilderness survival in all types of climate. It also covered emergency first aid (a variant of the battlefield variety), land navigation, camouflage techniques, methods of evasion, communication protocols and how to make improvised tools.
