13 AF receives top CFC level of recognition

For the 2011Hawaii-Pacific Combined Federal Campaign, the Jungle Warriors of 13th AirForce accounted for more than 23 percent of the money raised for the joint base and received the highest level of recognition.

On behalf of the 13th AF staff, Lt. Cmdr. Mike Norton from the 613 Air and Space Operations Center accepted the Platinum Award at the 2011 Hawaii-CFC Recognition Ceremony held Jan. 13 at Camp Smith's Sunset Lanai. The 13th AF staff greatly exceeded the standards for the Platinum Award with 68 percent of members donating and a per capita donation of more than $314.

Also contributing under 13th AF was the 613th AOC, 17th Operational Weather Squadron, and the 56th Air and Space Communications Squadron. All of these units exceeded the platinum level of per capita giving.

The CFC was established by President John F. Kennedy in 1961. It's an annual fund-raising drive conducted by Federal employees in their workplace each fall. The mission of the CFC is to encourage philanthropy and to provide all Federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.
