For service members in the Republic of Korea hearing "Exercise, Exercise, Exercise," is a phrase that rings through the skies during the quarterly operational readiness exercises.

Team Osan Airman reported for duty March 18, in response to a base-wide recall for Beverly Midnight 12-01, which is the second week-long simulated wartime contingency exercise executed here.

Airmen are evaluated every quarter on their skills to survive and operate in a wartime environment, as well as defend the base, execute combat operations and receive follow-on forces.

"If we practice like we play, we will be ready for any situation and ready to fight and win tonight," said Maj. Neal Sheeran, 51st Fighter Wing plans.

Throughout the week, Osan Mustangs will demonstrate the ability to operate in a chemical environment as well as administer self-aid and buddy-care during a wartime environment. Airmen will also highlight their ability to position, employ, and sustain forces and showcase operational readiness.

Scenarios for the readiness inspection include active shooter, aircraft accidents, medical emergencies, building fires and chemical and missile attacks.

The 51st FW Safety Office advises members to stay hydrated throughout the week and practice operational risk management while performing official tasks.

"Ensure that you are doing day-to-day ops with risk management in the forefront of all decision making," said Staff Sgt. Brian Miles Sr., safety craftsman.

Beverly Midnight 12-01 is the last readiness exercise before the Consolidated Unit Inspection in mid-spring, which will evaluate the programs and mission readiness of the base.

Inspectors from Pacific Air Forces will be here to validate that the Team Osan exercise evaluation team is correctly evaluating the wing's readiness, Sheeran said.
