More than 70 Airmen from the 13th and 14th Fighter Squadron and 35th Maintenance Group were flown to Paya Lebar Air Base in Singapore March 23 in support of Commando Sling.

The exercise, scheduled for three weeks, was created to help build relations with the people of Singapore and train U.S. Air Force pilots in a foreign environment.

Pilots from the 13 and 14 FS will be training on a variety of basic fighter and air combat maneuvers and air combat tactics.

"The air-to-air training helps verify our tactics, techniques and procedures", said Lt. Col. John McDaniel, 13 FS commander. "Singapore is a great ally of the U.S. and this will be a great opportunity for our air forces to strengthen the bonds between our two countries and help maintain regional stability."
