When push comes to shove, literally, 35th Security Forces Airmen are trained to control the situation. The most common training method to ensure this level of readiness is donning the red man suit. The red man suit is a protective garment Airmen wear during baton training.

The basic goal of a security forces specialist is pretty simple -- protect the people, property and resources of the U.S. Air Force. Accomplishing this goal requires extensive training in law enforcement and combat tactics. Security forces specialists work at both stateside and overseas locations, where they often patrol off base. This is a physically and mentally demanding career, requiring focused and professional Airmen.

"I train my defenders to be the most adaptive thing out there," said Master Sgt. Christopher Padron, 35th Security Forces Squadron training manager. "If we have to get physical, we will win. My defenders have a base to protect, I expect nothing less."
