Kadena celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Published Jan. 18, 2013 By Airman 1st Class Daryn Murphy 18th Wing Public Affairs KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- The observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a day to celebrate the sweeping change that Dr. King made in the civil rights movement. He gave his famous "I Have a Dream" speech 50 years ago. Service members and their families celebrated Dr. King's life with a 5K run, blood drive and luncheon on Kadena Air Base, Japan, Jan. 16-18. Airman 1st Class Daryn Murphy takes us to Kadena Air Base to show us how the community remembers Dr. King.
