Engines roar at Cope Tiger 13

Large force employment operations continue here during Cope Tiger 2013 Field Training Exercise Mar. 15, 2013.

The exercise includes more than 120 aircraft and air defense units from the U.S., Thailand and Singapore.

Forces exercise airborne and land-based control of mission packages, electronic warfare, tactical airlift, search and rescue procedures, mission planning and in-flight interoperability.

Two joint teams consisting of flying forces from each of the participating countries fly opposing air-to-air and air-to-ground combat missions using a variety of aircraft weapon systems.

U.S. aircraft participating in Cope Tiger 13 include the A-10 Thunderbolt II, C-17 Globemaster III and F-15C Eagle.

Cope Tiger is an annual multilateral aerial exercise designed to improve readiness and cooperation between U.S., Thai and Singaporean forces.
