Cast members from the hit FX series "Sons of Anarchy" visited with Airmen and their families on Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, March 16.

Actors Kim Coates, Mark Boone Junior and Dayton Callie spent almost two days on the island where they also visited service members at Naval Base Guam. This visit was the last leg of their weeklong United Service Organization tour in the Pacific that also took them to military installations in Japan and Hawaii.

"It's a small gesture to come out here and say hello to some of our biggest fans in the military," said Callie. "Anyone who goes up in the air is an amazing person. If God wanted us to fly, he would've given us wings. The pilots are terrific and we're grateful for everything the military does for us."

While here, the actors visited the general base community at The Exchange on Andersen AFB, where 36th Force Support Squadron officials estimated 300-plus fans showed for the one-hour event.

"I just want to say thanks to all the fans and thanks to all the military members and their families serving so far away from home, doing things to keep us safe," said Coates. "We didn't even realize when the show first started that it had such a huge military following until Henry Rollins (another actor in the series) told us about it. We were shocked at just how many of the fans are in the military and it's a humbling experience to come out here and see so many brave men and women and being able to meet with them."

Due to 24/7 operations, some Airmen were not able to attend the meet-and-greet event at the exchange, so the stars went to them. The "Sons of Anarchy" visited members at the 36th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department and they also went to Hangar 1 where they met with aircrew and maintenance Airmen along with a group of Airmen temporarily assigned here to attend the Pacific Regional Training Center prior to deploying.

"I'm excited to see the cast from 'Sons of Anarchy,'" said Airman 1st Class Jeremy Gorman, 36th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief deployed here from the 96th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Unit at Barksdale Air Force Base, La. "I was working this afternoon so I didn't really get a chance to go and see them. So it's unbelievable; I'm speechless that they get to come out here and visit with us."

In addition to meeting with Airmen and their families, the cast also had the opportunity to see a B-52 Stratofortress up close for the first time. And if Coates gets his wish, "Sons of Anarchy" fans may see fewer motorcycles and more B-52s in upcoming shows for the series.

"They told me I can have it, so I'm going to have it shipped to my house," joked Coates. "But really, it is a gorgeous aircraft. It was built in 1961 and it still looks great."
