Osan Airmen pay tribute to POW/MIA comrades

Every year, National Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Recognition Day is observed on the third Friday in September to honor those who were prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action.

This year, POW/MIA recognition day will be held on Sept. 20, and Osan recognized POW/MIA Day throughout the week of Sept. 16 to 19 with multiple events, including the candlelight vigil, a 24-hour run, and reveille and retreat ceremonies.

National POW/MIA Recognition Day is a day reserved to remember, reflect on and honor the sacrifices made by the nation's heroes.
