Misawa Airmen gathered at the base chapel for a Holocaust Remembrance Candlelight Vigil April 28, 2014. Between 1933 and 1945, more than 6 million Jews were persecuted, oppressed, and massacred by the Nazi regime and its collaborators. With approximately 2,000 concentration camps throughout Europe, more than 3.2 million met their death in these sites. During this era of the Holocaust, German authorities also targeted other groups because of their perceived "racial inferiority."
