Four teams from Osan Air Base and Kunsan Air Base competed in the 2014 Korea Peninsula Weapons Loading Competition April 26, at Osan AB.

Competing were:

The 36th Aircraft Maintenance Unit "Fiends," from Osan AB, represented by Staff Sgt. Richard Randall and Senior Airmen Jordan Leach and Marissa Hungerford.

The 25th AMU "Draggins" from Osan AB, represented by Senior Airmen Jacob Jennings, Juan Gonzalez and Chandler Rickard.

The 35th AMU "Pantons," from Kunsan AB, represented by Staff Sgt. Adam Evans and Senior Airmen Christopher Webb and Trenton Metyk.

The 80th AMU "Juvats," from Kunsan AB, represented by Staff Sgt. Trumaine Cox and Senior Airmen Ryanted Duarte and Stephen Jervis.

The teams were tested on their ability to successful load a plane with two missles, one AIM-9L/M and one GBU-31v1, with a time limit of 20 minutes.

Teams were graded on their safety, reliability, technicial proficiency and timeliness.

Before the competition, Col. Brook Leonard, 51st Fighter Wing commander, said weapons loading is one of the most pivotal jobs in the Air Force.

"This is what we're really tested on," he said. "Being able to load these planes at a moment's notice is what keeps us ready to fight and win."

The 25th AMU won the competition.
