KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- The U.S. Air Force’s 8th Fighter Wing and Republic of Korea air force’s 38th Fighter Group came together during exercise Beverley Sentinel 26-1 at Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea, Dec. 2-4.
During this iteration of BEVSENT, a combat readiness exercise designed to test and enhance Airmen’s abilities to survive, operate and defend the base in a contested environment, various simulated events provided intense combat conditions that highlighted not only the technical proficiency of participating units, but also the shared commitment to strengthening combined defense operations.
“Combining our unique skill set with ROKAF for this exercise provided a valuable opportunity to showcase and strengthen our interoperability,” said U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Bridger Boyd, 8th Security Forces Squadron flight commander. “We were able to demonstrate how we execute our roles effectively while maintaining a safe operating environment.”
Both U.S. and ROK units across the base worked side-by-side practicing chemical attack tactics, emergency response capabilities, unexploded ordnance identification and removal procedures underscoring the value of continual training and the importance of maintaining a unified approach to regional security.

Training alongside our counterparts ensures we maintain the skillset required to deter adversaries and defend the Peninsula,” said U.S. Air Force Col.
