CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT RODNEY J. MCKINLEY

Chief Master Sergeant Rodney J. McKinley is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for more than 55,000 Airmen in Pacific Air Forces; he is stationed at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. In this position, he serves as the principal adviser to the PACAF commander on all enlisted issues. His responsibilities include keeping the commander appraised of all matters affecting the health, morale and welfare of assigned enlisted people; and, coordinating with headquarters staff agencies, commanders and senior enlisted personnel on matters of administration and implementation of command policy.

Chief McKinley was born in Georgetown, Ohio, and is a 1974 graduate of Western Brown High School. He entered the Air Force in July 1974. After his first enlistment, he took a break from the service in 1977 and attended college. Chief McKinley re-entered the Air Force in 1982 and his wide dynamic experiences have spanned the medical, aircraft maintenance, and first sergeant career fields. Before assuming his current position, Chief McKinley served as the Command Chief for Eleventh Air Force and as the primary enlisted advisor to the Commander, Alaskan Command, Alaskan NORAD Region at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska.

Chief McKinley has significant combat experience in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom serving as the Command Chief for the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, which supported 6,200 Air Force, National Guard, Reserve, Army, Navy, Australian and British forces from February 2003 to June 2003 while helping generate 4,052 sorties while striking 5,178 targets against the enemy.
