Tripler doctors renew Indonesian lives
PEKANBARU, Indonesia – A surgeon from the Tripler Army Medical Center, from Honolulu, Hawaii, operates on a 47 year old local Indonesian during operation PACIFIC ANGEL 11-3 here, June 15, 2011. PACANGEL is a series of joint/combined humanitarian civic outreach efforts training conducted in the Pacific. This humanitarian and civic outreach training program is aimed at improving military-civic cooperation between the United States and Indonesia. The operation consists of several civil military assistance programs to include medical civic assistance programs (MEDCAP/DENCAP) with focuses on general health care, dental, optometry, women’s health, and pediatrics. Also included is the engineering civic assistance program (ENCAP), with focus on structural, plumbing, and electric repair of medical clinics and schools. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt.
