3/23/2012 - JOINT BASE PEARL-HARBOR HICKAM, Hawaii  -- The U.S. will participate in exercise Kiwi Flag 2012 and the Ohakea Airshow 2012 at Royal New Zealand Ohakea Air Force Bases Whenuapai and Ohakea, Mar. 26 through Apr. 4.

This is the first time the U.S. is participating in a Kiwi Flag exercise. Two C-17 Globemaster IIIs are scheduled to represent the U.S. in the exercise and at the airshow.

Through this exercise and other regional events, the U.S. is able to develop and expand combined airlift capabilities with the Royal New Zealand Air Force and regional Air Forces. Kiwi Flag advances military interoperability and coalition building between the U.S., New Zealand, and regional nations.

This exercise celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
