LEGASPI, Philippines (July 6, 2007)– U.S. Air Force Maj. Bernard Van Pelt is interviewed by a local Philippine television station about the medical and dental work for the local residents at Gogon Elementary School. Van Pelt led a medical group who provided medical services at the school in support of Pacific Partnership. The four-month Pacific Partnership humanitarian-assistance mission brings to the region general and ophthalmology surgery, basic medical evaluation and treatment, preventive medicine treatment, dental screenings and treatment, optometry screenings, eyewear distribution, public health training and veterinary services as requested by the Philippine government.
